Gluten Free Bumpdate | Week 31

How far along? 31 weeks / 32 when this posts
Total weight gain: Not sure this week, there were a lot of holiday treats involved so I'm a bit nervous for my next weigh in!
Maternity clothes? Yes! And I'm super ticked off because the elastic band in one of my maternity jeans broke. So annoying!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Still very intermittent / not good.
Best moment this week: Spending holidays with family and seeing friends!
Miss anything? My waist. Wine, I had big intentions to have a glass on Christmas and had refrained on my birthday to make it happen, however said wine did not come to fruition. New Years Eve hopefully I can have one!
Movement: In general yes, and lucky me, Bricklet found my ribs this week. He was considerably quieter when I had to take Benadryl which I freaked out a bit about (am now in rock/hard place with being able to breath and not drugging Bricklet).
Food cravings: No cravings really. Enjoyed some gluten free baguettes from an awesome bakery in Montreal (Louise's Sans Gluten Free is amazing if you live in or are visiting Montreal and can get to the West Island).
Anything making you queasy or sick: Acid reflux continues to be the bane of my existence. Reverting back to not eating at home / not having things i prepared freaking me out. Not pregnancy related, but harder to cope with being pregnant, I have had insane allergies this week. I rarely take anything for them anyways, however Sunday morning I was having a very hard time breathing (was starting to have asthma problems, and I only have sport inflicted asthma which I can't take inhalers for) which caused me to panic a lot and for the first time I paged by OB (poor guy, it was a Sunday morning!) to ask about taking allergy meds. He okayed Benadryl.
Gender: Still a boy as far as we know.
Labor signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Acid reflux, insomnia, being whale sized, back problems, and my eczema has gone absolutely mental (allergy-related aggravation).
Belly button in or out? Still in! Hoping it holds out the next few weeks without popping!
Wedding rings on or off? On mostly, I've had some swelling which prevented me from wearing them, but I think that is allergy related more than pregnancy related.
Happy or moody most of the time: With feeling sick, I'd have to say more on the moody side this week unfortunately.
What are you looking forward to? 2014! We're really getting to the point that Bricklet could arrive at any time, and I'm really excited to meet him.

Gluten Free Bumpdate | Week 30

How far along? 30 week / 31 when this posts
Total weight gain: My birthday week paid off, I was up 3 lbs in 2 weeks at my last doctors appointment :)
Maternity clothes? Oh yes.
Stretch marks? Still none!
Sleep: Absolutely terrible! I feel like every week I complain, but this week was really the worst. I'm not getting to sleep until at least midnight, and then I'm up as early at 3am.
Best moment this week: Confirmation that I do not have gestational diabetes! My doctor rang to tell me, and with everything else he has not rang unless there was an issue and just reviewed at my appointment. He did call to tell me, and I was terrified he was ringing to tell me I had GD. I was absolutely delighted when he informed me of the good news! Making room for Bricklet - we sorted out at least a bit of closet so his things aren't in a duffle bag in my sitting room. An online shopping binge at Saks and Bloomingdales totally attributed to this. Also, non-pregnancy related, my husband and I did our Christmas gift exchange this weekend as we'll be travelling over the holidays and he absolutely spoiled me with awesome and beautiful gifts.
Miss anything? Feeling rested upon waking up. Copious amounts of coffee instead of just the one cup.
Movement: Still lots! He rolls quite a bit still and lots of nudges. The hard kicks have subsided (I don't miss those - they somethings really hurt!).
Food cravings: Nope, once again I'm very dull and if anything the opposite - I don't have much of an appetite.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Acid reflux continues to cause me trouble.
Gender: Still a boy as far as we know!
Labor signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Acid reflux, lack of sleeping, sore belly / skin from growing, nausea, exhaustion, and I would say nesting is starting to kick in as well. Happily, my eczema is settling down!
Belly button in or out? Still in!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time: A mix this week. Being tired does not help my mood. While I'm really excited to spend this Christmas with my husband's side of the family and see our nephews and niece, I'm missing my family and am really sad about missing our new niece's first Christmas.
What are you looking forward to? Not traveling. Is that an appropriate answer? I'm embarking on my last trip and cannot wait to not have to pack or unpack a bag or deal with flying for several weeks at least! It also occurred to me how close we are getting to Bricklet's arrival. He could be here in 6 weeks (5 weeks really since I write these on the last day of the week to recap that week as it was). It's crazy! I have a massive to do list both at work and at home, but I'm excited to work through it and meet this little guy!

Gluten Free Bumpdate | Week 29

How far along? 29 week / 30 when this posts.
Total weight gain: I was weighed at my doctors appointment, and I was up 5 lbs in 5 weeks (I am supposed to be gaining 1 lbs per week, so achievement unlocked!)
Maternity clothes? Yes. One thing that came up as it got bitterly cold in NYC this week was that I don't have a super warm jacket. My pre-pregnancy super warm coat still somehow zips over my bump; hoping it will continue for the next few weeks. I do have a maternity winter coat from my sister as well, but it doesn't stand up against -10 and snowing. The leggings I am wearing in the above photo are not and I purchased with the intention of wearing post-baby. What I'm saying is excuse the muffin top.
Stretch marks? Still none!
Sleep: So horrible! I'm not sure if it's jet lagged, being uncomfortable, the incessant need to visit the loo, or a combination by I barely slept this week.  Oh, and my flat stomach!
Best moment this week: My birthday! I'm not really into birthdays, and I actually did my 3 hour glucose test on my birthday (more on that in a bit), but I was so spoiled by my husband and got to enjoy such a lovely weekend with him that I'd have to say it was the highlight.
Miss anything? See: sleep.
Movement: Lots! He rolls around a lot. The hard kicks/punches are decreasing and the rolly polly is picking up. I suppose he is getting too big to wind up very well :)
Food cravings: Another boring week of no food cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick: My 3 hour glucose test! I failed the one hour screen for gestational diabetes (just barely, and most doctors probably would have passed me). If you have never been subjected to this before here is how it goes: you fast for at least 8 hours (I did 12+) so they can get your fasting blood sugar level. You then drink this glucose drink which has 100g of glucose (sugar), and thy draw blood one an hour for three hours to see your levels over time. Now, I have a sugar tooth, but I don't actually have that much sugar. Like a bad day would be 1/4 the amount as that drink. I was so incredibly ill from it for the majority of the day. Hopefully my results come back and I don't have GD!
Gender: Boy still.
Labor signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Insomnia, acid reflux, sore back/sciatica, and what I think what I originally thought was hormonal acne on my chin (which I did have and had cleared up months ago with my new skin regime), it actually eczema. So applying a non-medicated moisturizer I use for eczema on my legs which I get every year, and it seems to have settled a bit in the last couple of days. Hopefully it just clears up!
Belly button in or out? Still in!
Wedding rings on or off? Still on!
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! Again, I can certainly be a bit cranky and had those moments this week as well, but overall my mood has been pretty stable.
What are you looking forward to? Getting things a bit more sorted and ready for Bricklet's arrival, holidays with family, and meeting Bricklet in 2-ish months!

Gluten Free Bumpdate | Week 28

Taken at about midnight after an evening long haul flight from London - I looks like yuck!
How far along? 28 weeks - now 29!
Total weight gain: Not sure
Maternity clothes? Still a definite yes!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: So bad for the most part! I've never been one to really be jet lagged, but pregnancy has changed that! I was in London for work, and had the roughest go sleeping.
Best moment this week: Entering the third trimester! Getting to see some of my Dubliner friends! Shopping in Harrods with one of my besties for Bricklet. Work, even though it was long days.
Miss anything? Sleep and my normal size.
Movement: Lots and lots!
Food cravings: I'm so unexciting, no cravings really.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Acid reflux still!
Gender: Still a boy as far as we know!
Labor signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Acid reflux, insomnia, forgetfulness.
Belly button in or out? In, but barely!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, except I found out I failed my 1 hour glucose test, so I have to go for the 3 hour :(
What are you looking forward to? A week at home! I haven't been in New York properly (i.e. for more than a handful of days) so I am really excited to have a normal non-travelling week!

Gluten Free Bumpdate | Week 27

To juxtapose last week's bumpshot, this week's was taken in NYC, it's late and I'm cold!
I also sunburned my belly, which accounts for the splotchiness.
How far along? 27 Weeks / 28 when this is up
Total weight gain: Once again did not weight myself this week.
Maternity clothes? Yes!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: At the start of the week terrible - midway through it got significantly better. Although I am having to get up once a night now which is new for me.
Best moment this week: Can I say the whole thing? My husband and I enjoyed babymoon # 2 in Cancun, and it was such an amazing week. We relaxed and just got to hang out, which it feels like we don't get to do often enough with travel schedules and our 'to do' lists. Also, we got the first 'big' thing for Bricklet - a pack and play which will also be his bed for the few couple of months (Manhattan apartments require everything to be multi-use); it was a spontaneous decision to buy it now, I was planning to start purchasing in January, however there was an excellent sale I could not refuse! Plus side - it wasn't in stock on Amazon, so hopefully it will be out until late December/early January anyway!
Miss anything? My flat stomach! It was my first sun holiday that I was not concerned with working out prior at least haha.
Movement: Lots! Rolls, hiccups, jabs, Bricklet does it all. Sometimes I describe it as hi being 'creepy' where it feels like he's crawling around.
Food cravings: No cravings really, other than carbs (a typical craving for me when I travel since GF options don't always include bread/pasta).
Anything making you queasy or sick: A few boughts of nausea this week - one which I think was due to overeating (I do love tacos!)
Gender: Still a boy as far as we know :)
Labor signs: Nope!
Symptoms: My usual suspects of course (nausea, acid reflex). Also noticed my balance and joint stability are definitely off, I managed to fall down and hurt my ankle :( Also, with becoming quite front heavy, I have been getting a lot of soreness in my back.
Belly button in or out? Still hanging in there!
Wedding rings on or off? I had a lot of swelling thanks to the heat and humity of Cancun. Rings are still officially on, but I did opt of wearing them several days just as a precaution.
Happy or moody most of the time: Very happy! This was one of the best weeks I have had in a long time, and I cannot actually imagine feeling happier than at this moment in time.
What are you looking forward to? The last business trip, and taking advantage of the location to meet up with some friends! I am also looking forward to having a couple of weeks at home (NYC home)!
